Actos Heart Injuries
The FDA has issued warnings for patients using the diabetes drug Actos (pioglitazone)--a very widely prescribed drug, especially after Avandia was linked with heart problems.
Actos may cause serious heart related injuries. Medical studies suggest that Actos use may be associated with injuries including:
- Cardiovascular Death
- Heart attack
- Congestive heart failure (CHF)
- Other heart injuries and their side effects
Actos is the brand-name version of diabetic prescription medication pioglitazone. Takeda Pharmaceuticals, which manufactures and sells Actos, released Actos in 1999. Actos was the subject of a 10-year FDA study, which study indicates that there may be an association between Actos use and increased risks of heart attack, heart failure, and other cardiovascular injuries.
If you or a loved one took this diabetic medication and suffered injury or death, you and your family may be entitled to financial compensation to help with medical costs, treatment, lost wages and other expenses.
